MusicXML to jianpu: free numbered notation PDF
Export MusicXML from MuseScore, Finale, Sibelius or similar, choose the file, and get a jianpu PDF in seconds: title and credits read from the score, key and time at the start, lyrics under the numbers. No sign-up.
How to use it
- 1
Export the score as MusicXML from your notation software (.musicxml, .xml or compressed .mxl).
- 2
Choose the file and the document language.
- 3
Click “Convert”, check the preview of the first page, and download the PDF.
What happens to your file
The file is sent to docraft’s server, typeset with the same jianpu template the app uses, and deleted as soon as it is done. Nothing is kept. Converting uses only the typesetting engine, no AI model, and your file is never used to train one.
Limits
- Files up to 5 MB.
- Melody only: for several parts or piano music, the top note of the first part is set, and the caption says so.
- Up to 20 conversions per hour from one network address.
- The PDF carries the docraft.art address in small print.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free? Do I need an account?
Free, no account. Converting uses only the typesetting engine, not an AI model, so it costs us very little. To prevent abuse, one network address can convert up to 20 files an hour.
What is jianpu?
Jianpu is numbered musical notation, widely used in China for songs and choirs: the scale degrees 1 to 7 stand for do to ti, dots mark octaves, and lines under or after a number mark its length.
I don’t have MusicXML. What can I do?
Open or enter the score in MuseScore (free) and export MusicXML. Scores in PDF or image form can’t be converted directly.
Can it convert piano or choir scores?
Yes, but only the melody (the top note of the first part) is set. To keep every part, use the staff notation layout in the docraft app.
Can I add an introduction, practice notes, or change the title?
That is what the docraft app is for: upload the same file and say what you want, such as “add practice notes for the choir and call it Spring Song, two parts”. The free plan has 300 points a month, about 18 new documents.
Want an introduction, practice notes, or staff notation?
Upload the same score in docraft and say what you need: an introduction, practice notes, several songs in one songbook, or the staff notation layout instead.
